"Sharing The Rainbow Adventure"
Mrs.
Darla
Hardy, Mother Advisor
Mrs. Hardy began her affiliation with the
International Order of Rainbow for Girls in the early 1970’s when her
mother became Mother Advisor of a new Assembly, Meremac Valley
Assembly, shortly after her family moved from Texas to the St. Louis area. By the time Mrs. Hardy was 12,
Meremac Valley Assembly had gone dark and she petitioned for membership
with Maplewood Assembly No. 6 where she was initiated on November 16,
1976. Over the next 3 years she served Maplewood Assembly as
Outer Observer, Service, Recorder, Chaplain and Patriotism. In
April 1979, she was awarded the Grand Cross of Color.
In September 1979, she moved with her
family back to Texas. In 1980, after visiting several Assemblies
in the Ft. Worth area, Mrs. Hardy demitted to Weatherford
Assembly #87 and was soon elected to Faith. In June 1981, she was
installed as Worthy Advisor. She continued to serve Weatherford
Assembly until her Majority in July 1984, including two consecutive
terms as Worthy Advisor; June 1983 through February 1984.
She was a member
of Job’s Daughters while living in Missouri
and served as DeMolay Chapter Sweetheart in both Missouri
and Texas.
Mrs. Hardy has been a member of
Springtown Chapter #498, OES Since September
1982 and has also been active in supporting youth athletic associations
in her area.
In 2002, when her daughter became
interested in Rainbow, Mrs. Hardy searched the
Ft. Worth area for an Assembly
and found Ft.
Worth #15.
In 2003 Mrs. Hardy was elected to serve on the Assembly’s
Advisory Board and in January 2006 was installed as Mother Advisor.
The International Order of Rainbow
for Girls has been, in one form or another, a
part of Mrs. Hardy’s life for over 30 years and she looks forward to
serving the organization in the years to come.
