WHAT IS RAINBOW?
The
International Order Of The Rainbow For Girls Is A Character Building
Organization For Girls Between Ages of 11 and 20. It's purpose is to
promote effective communication, leadership skills, and most
importantly, service to humanity.
WHAT DO
RAINBOW GIRLS DO?
We are
a fraternal service organization for young women who want to be the
best they can be.
Rainbow Girls learn and practice superb communication skills, how to
work with others, and to take responsibilities seriously.
At meetings you plan many fun things together; such as dances, camping
trips, going to plays, skating, sleep-overs, pizza parties, and mystery
trips.
Rainbow Girls help others by participating in service projects and
learn that helping those less fortunate is one of life’s greatest
rewards.
Girls visit other assemblies as well as functions within their own
jurisdiction.
When you participate in the many activities Rainbow offers, you will
have lots of fun and learn to be a better person.
You will learn many important skills, such as extemporaneous speaking,
parliamentary procedure, proper etiquette, and posture.
Rainbow reinforces important values and respect, and how to interact
well with others.
Members of Rainbow are active in their
churches, schools and communities. They raise money for various
charities through bake sales, pancake breakfast, babysitting, dinners
and they extend themselves in service to their communities, churches
and sponsoring organizations. Rainbow Girls have many fun
activities and opportunities to make lifelong friendship.
What to Expect at a Rainbow Meeting
Rainbow Girls
belong to an “assembly”, which is the same as a local club.
Members learn
standard meeting protocol, helpful in school, community, and later
throughout adulthood.
Meetings begin with an entry march and short opening ceremony.
Guests are welcomed and then the members conduct their business.
Sometimes meetings conclude with a fun presentation or special
entertainment, followed by a short closing ceremony and ending drill
march.
As assembly is administered by twenty officers who serve for a four or
six month term that begins with a festive and colorful “installation”.
Members can hold many different offices in Rainbow in which you may
gain practical knowledge, confidence and grace, enabling them to excel
in school as well as outside activities.
A girl may wish to advance through the ranks and eventually become the
assembly’s presiding officer, the Worthy Advisor.
This experience provides a wonderful and valuable experience a girl
never forgets.
Each year a core of “Grand Officers” is selected from the past Worthy
Advisors.
HOW OFTEN ARE
THE MEETINGS?
Most Rainbow
Assemblies meet twice a month. In addition to the bi-monthly
meeting at her local Assembly, she will have the opportunity to visit
other statewide or International Rainbow Assemblies, where she will
meet other girls her own age who are members of the same organization.

standing, as well as any Master Mason, Eastern Star, Amaranth or White
Shrine Of Jerusalem in good standing, any Majority Member of Rainbow,

being a good person.
To practice the values she is taught at the meetings.
In taking part in service projects, she learns
first-hand the joy that comes from helping others.
The fund-raising projects, teaches the importance of
generating revenue to meet the assembly’s expenses.

good friends.
Rainbow history has proven that she
can gain life-long friendships.
Rainbow Girls are responsible for conducting all
business and planning the activities of the assembly.

guidance, stability and interpret rules.
Rainbow believes a girl benefits
most when she receives as much “hands-on” experience as possible.
All major decisions are made by the
girls during their regular course of business.
