As
we all pray for those affected by Rita and Katrina: Amarillo is also
prepared to help. A shelter was set up for both Hurricanes at The
Amarillo Civic Center and some of our Rainbow girls have even helped
feed the evacuees. We have received over 200 individuals fleeing the
storm. We are prepared to take many more as cars and busses arrive 24
hours a day. We will remain ready and can handle many more for some
time as everyone waits for word that they can return to their homes. If
you are aware of friends or relatives still seeking shelter please tell
them Amarillo is ready and willing to help. We have food, beds and
welcome smiles.

Subject: Rita
To
those of you who can receive email, I want to tell you about the offers
of help that are coming in to those that are affected by Hurricane Rita.
El
Paso Assembly knows they are a long way away, but will provide housing,
if needed; the Martinez family (formerly of El Paso), now in Brandon,
Mississippi, has offered housing and help, as needed. Others in the
Dallas area have offered housing and help. We have Rainbow friends all
over the state that will be happy to help.
Supreme
Assembly has a Disaster Relief Fund, a new program in place to Adopt a
Rainbow Girl, Grand Assembly will certainly expand this program, as
well as the funds that are being collected by Cathy Coleman for Katrina
will be for Rita victims, as well.
I
have application forms for the Disaster Relief Fund and the Adopt a
Rainbow Girl program. Please help spread the word about the Rainbow
help that is available as needs are known. Many of our Rainbow friends
will be without email so your personal knowledge and contact will
certainly help.
Prayers are with each one of you.
Love,
Mrs. D.
